problems with this group

Are their certain characters or something that cannot be posted to this group? I've tried posting and urgent question 3 times now. Each time everything appears to go OK but then the message never shows up?

Thanks Tim

No restrictions on characters...

Where doesn't the message show up? GMail sent it to me fine...

I've had the same problem several times.

Everything seems fine, but my message never shows up. Usually from my mac, the same message posts fine from windows.

...or maybe there's just a long delay, and I'm going crazy!

Well...that worked fine, but the new post that I submitted about 10 minutes ago still isn't up.

Some messages never show up, others appear after weeks have gone by. I don't know why it is, but threaded display of this list in Thunderbird has a large proportion of threads broken into two pieces - often the message starting the thread is separated from the rest of the thread.

Does anyone else have this problem, or know of a solution?

I've found that sending directly from gmail seldom gets my post into
this group. Nabble or RubyForum normally work.

I don't use gmail (I just use SMTP to the list server), but it's often been observed that gmail doesn't show you your own posts to the list.

I've just received a bunch of 120 or so messages, 4 from 20th November, 13 from 21st, 11 from 22nd, and so on.

I never see new threads that I start. I am on Mac and I post through GMail. Very weird. If someone replies to the thread then it will show up in the inbox.

Is it really that difficult to have a stable Rails forum? Why do we have to put up with Google groups Beta-forever misery?
