Has there been any recently published info about where the Rails core
is headed after the release of Rails 1.2. At some point in the past I
read that the next version will be Rails 2.0 and some current features
will change from deprecated to obsolete and components and pagination
will be removed. Any other major features that will disappear? Is
Rails 2.0 all about cleanup or is there already another big change
like RJS, migrations, or RESTful routes already in the works?

There has not been published anything, no. Mostly because it's not set
in stone. Heck, it's not even draw in the sand. Our current intentions
are to get 1.2 delivered. Once that has happened, we'll start thinking
more seriously about 2.0. I'd expect the current fuzzy ideas will be
presented in some form at RailsConf 07.
