For all the talk I hear about how good gmail is at blocking spam, you'd think the spam problem coming from googlegroups would be an easy fix.
I think I'll just watch from the forum. I love rails, but spam annoys me more.

Like most all good email filters, the GMail spam filter requires training. (That's peeps like you and me hitting the spam button every time we see spam)

Spam is not an easy problem to fix, that's why it's still around. Do you honestly think if Google could make it go away they wouldn't proceed with all due haste?
The problem is that spam is still profitable. Inexperienced internet users are still clicking on the links in the emails. There will always be inexperienced internet users, not even Google can "fix" that.
I think I'll just watch from the forum. I love rails, but spam annoys me more.
