text drive or dreamhost

I'm looking for a rails host and the two that seem to be the most
popular are textdrive and dreamhost.

Popular, as in their servers are highly loaded?

Is tehre a better host that I have missed?

Dreamhost is awesome! I've had them for about six months. Never had a
problem...even when they were having outages. I highly suggest them.
They are all up to date with ruby and rails. Also have some cool gems
installed.

If you want to sign up....just travel over to
http://www.dreamhost.com/r.cgi?203990 and then you can enter the code
RUBYGROUP to get the $50 dollar activation fee waived. After that the
package I have is only $10 bucks a month. I can add as many domains as
I like and you get more space than you should ever need.

I have no real experience of dreamhost, but I grabbed an account anyway
using one of the $97 discount codes - means I paid about £12 (yep,
sterling) for 1 years hosting and domain name(1 year in advance is the
best deal - no set up fee).
Installed ruby/gems locally (no real need, but hey why not, with 200GB
of disk :stuck_out_tongue: ), no issues so far, pretty fast on the ping even considering
I'm in the UK.

Check out http://retailmenot.com for discount codes (I believe I used
ABW97).

railsplayground.com I _can_ vouch for (13 months), great service.

If you're trying to just help the guy out, then please give him a full
referral code like this one: MAX97
