Setting up a VPS with Nginx, Rails and FTP.

I have a new VPS with Debian 5 where I'm going to move my sites. I have installed Rails and Nginx with Passenger. I'm a single user.

How should I setup user, html-root (now in /opt/nginx/html), ftp (with proftpd) so I can do ALL.
