Ruby on Rails Developer (Remote, US)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join our dynamic team in the higher education sector. As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our applications and systems. Your expertise in Ruby on Rails is essential, and experience with AWS Glue and AWS tools for data wrangling and cleansing is a plus.   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain Ruby on Rails applications that enhance the higher education experience
  • Lead and participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed for data processing and system functionality
  • Utilize Ruby on Rails and Resque to build efficient and robust backend systems
  • Optimize and enhance existing applications, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and perform system upgrades
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of innovation and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation in our software solutions


  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Ruby on Rails
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications with a track record of delivering successful projects
  • Familiarity with Resque or similar background job processing systems
  • Experience with AWS Glue and AWS tools for data wrangling and cleansing is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Passion for staying updated on emerging technologies and best practices in software development
  • Prior experience in the higher education domain is a plus, but not required
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment
