DUTIES

· Lead a team of Ruby Developers & Designers to architect & develop enterprise e-commerce applications · Develops e-commerce websites on Rails platform using Ruby · Develops open source software modules using Ruby and Java · Develops content management system using Ruby on Rails · Create unit test cases while developing code · Create detailed design documents for major projects · Manages change management requests and code migration · Develops standards, policies and procedures in line with industry standards · Assists in the planning, design and requirements gathering phases of software development life cycle · Works with client managers and design teams to review and elaborate project requirements, estimate development effort and implement quick proof of concepts · Works closely with designers and other software developers to coordinate efforts for timely implementation of projects

REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software development using J2EE or related web experience · Minimum 2 years of web development background using Ruby on Rails · Experience developing e-commerce website with full life cycle involvement · Understanding of web 2.0 concepts · Expertise working with Linux and writing shell scripts · Expertise in relational database such as Oracle, MYSQL · Experience with Ruby on Rails stack using Mongrels & MYSQL is a big plus · Knowledge of cross-browser, cross-platform client application development (IE, Netscape, Mac OS, Safari) and Open source plug-ins · The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · A good understanding of B2C e-commerce site functions is desired
