Ruby as a web client

Hello,

I need to write a program that will talk http to some web applications. I was thinking to use Rack. I am not sure what would be a good way to do this. Is there a better or higher level gem that I can use for this.

Thanks in advance! Alex

Rack isn't what you want. Rack defines the interface between web server / server like things like passenger or mongrel and ruby web app frameworks like rails or sinatra. For your needs the lowest level you'd probably want is net/http, there are a variety of more high level/ fun thigns you can use such as httparty. If you control both ends of the conversation ActiveResource may also be worth looking at

You could also peruse httparty (I think that's the name of a gem I used)...

Thanks Everyone!

httparty seems to be the right gem.
