need help about how rails interact with SNMP

hi      i am going to build a network probing application, i am little confuse about rails support for network application development. please guide me if rails support well to interrect with SNMP v3 Protocol. currently i have plan to use Perl but i am thinking about rails.                         Best Regards

Why do you need to do that in rails app? You want to write a agent or else?

I doubt that whether there is a ruby library support snmpv3.
