Large version banner hurts readability of docs on mobile

I often read the rails docs on my mobile device but I find the diagonal banner ad (on the right) to be quite distracting.

My proposal is to modify the mobile view to display a more reasonable sized banner ad (on the left) for easier readability.

Alternatively, another solution would be to add an x button to allow the user to optionally hide the banner from the page.

This is a good callout, I’m just not sure what to do with it. There is a plan to rework the documentation, and I’d like to collect these types of UX feedback somewhere.
