Installation Help for RoR on Debian Etch

I followed the installation guide on the rubyonrails wiki but rails said gem wasn't up to date, and then there were issues with rails. So I said screw it and decided to doa fresh install of debian and try over. Every ruby installation guide on debian that I've seen is from a year or more ago so I'm a bit angsty to try them.

Does anyone know of a recent installation guide, or one an older one that they've personally used and knows works on a fresh debian etch install? I really like ruby and would love to have rails up and running.

Any help would be appreciated.

while I haven't tried this one, all of slicehost's other guides have
been top notch

The article seems to have been updated since it was first written, eg
it mentions ruby gems 1.2.0 which was only released fairly recently
(and is the latest version)

Thank you, I'll give it a shot.

Thank you, rails is up and running.
