Google is not recognizing changing settings to digest or no email for this list (anyone else?)

Sorry to add to the flame war, but I do have a google account, and I have gone in and tried setting my settings to both digest mode, and to No Email mode, and I am still getting the regular emails, no matter what I set this too. I would like to still be subscribed to this list, but do not want the volume of email traffic. Bandwidth does count.

Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me? That may be part of what is causing so many people aggrivation.

I don't mind having to go in and change it that much, but when it doesn't work, it is really frustrating.

I just changed mine about an hour or 2 ago, and it seems to work for rubyonrails-talk@googlegroups.com. However, I have gotten a few rogue emails from the old mailing list, rails@lists.rubyonrails.org.

Can someone correct me if I'm wrong - we should no longer be getting e-mails from rails@lists.rubyonrails.org... all posts on the forum should be e-mailed out by the google group?

Hmmn. I wonder why this is the case for me. Maybe it is because I do not receive the list mail at my gmail account? I've tried changing it back and forth between either option a number of times now, and I am still receiving each individual email. I may have to unsubscribe because of it.

*sigh*

Go back to the original email (“Google Groups: You’ve been added…”). Click on the unsubscribe link. Then resubscribe, to the digest form of the list, using your GMail account. That’s what I did.

I had 6 or 7 extra messages arrive at the old account, and then I was all switched over.

Regards, Lori

Problem is, I don't use the gmail account if I can avoid it. I'd rather be subscribed to this address. It's relatively stupid if I'm required to use a gmail account for the list. But I'm trying unsubscribing now just to see if that works.

Thanks, Leah

Well, unless a six hour delay is normal, it still isn't working for me.

Well, it appears that I am now forced to use this group with my gmail account, even though I would prefer to be able to post from my normal email account. It's not the end of the world, but I wish people would think about how this migration would effect non-gmail users. I can't believe the Google Groups interface is this broken. I could not find a way to resubscribe with my old email address that I prefer to use for lists.
