Bug fix for 3.0.0RC

I submitted a single-line bug fix along with two test cases on the 1 August but it hasn't received any attention yet:

I understand that people must be busy with the 3.0.0 release but, since it resolves a condition that results in a dropped MySQL connection, I believe that it's an important bug to remove.

Can anyone let me know what I have to do to get this patch committed, please?
