Job Description:

As a Software Engineer with our client, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web-based tools and portals that will be deployed at their hosting facility as well as at customer (MSO) networks. You will work with the product management and engineering teams to create highly-configurable, small footprint products that can easily be deployed on multiple external web sites. Our client uses agile development methodologies and short build cycles.

Must adopt design and development methods that can support highly scalable, robust and high available systems.

Qualifications:

BS or Advanced Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Minimum of 5+ years experience in web application software development, preferably with open-source technologies Experience with Ruby on Rails and MySQL is required. Must have implemented 2-3 projects using Rails Must have excellent OOPS concepts Experience with right UI applications using AJAX, Flash and Flex is required Additional experience in multiple object-oriented web application frameworks Extensive experience with JavaScript libraries and CSS Experience with C/C++/Java is a plus. Experience with Mobile/Wireless is a plus Experience working in Media, Broadcasting and Television areas is a plus. Experience with content management tools is a plus Experience in testing the application using a testing application/framework (viz. Rails TDD, JMeter) is a plus. Must have prior experience with Linux environments (Mac OS is a plus) Strong teamwork and communication skills The ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision Enjoy working in start-up environment and is ready to take challenging tasks.
