If you installed according to senor Benjamin's tutorial, you'd be installing into /usr/local/... and as you can see by the results of your which command, none of that is in your path.
There are several ways to setup the path. You can update the path in ~/.bashrc to affect only your user, or /etc/profile to affect the whole system.
