gem update fails on make sqlite3

Anyone have any idea how to interpret this? I've been at it for an hour and I'm not getting anywhere. Doesn't seem to be any other instances of this online either.

Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

hi, try it before:

yum groupinstall “Development Tools”

Hey Luciano,

Thanks for the reply. That may fix it, but it’s like nuking a mouse. I don’t need all of those tools - especially not xorg - on my headless virtual box.

I think I understand what you’re getting at - something’s missing - ok, but what…? The error message isn’t exactly clear. Do you have any more specific idea what might be the actual cause of the error?

sqlite3-ruby 1.3.0 is busted. Stick with 1.2.5 for now.

gem install sqlite3-ruby -v=1.2.5

u need some packs: build-essentials; gcc gcc++ etc

it command installed all.
