deployment (2 messages posted - none appeared?!)

Well it's annoying when I post a message - google says it will appear in a moment and 3 days later there is still nothing.

I have questions regarding deployment: At work there is an IIS web server - to enable me to deploy to Linux what is the best action to take? Could I put a virtual server running Linux/Apache on the same physical machine - using VMWare? Would this allow me to take advantage of Linux deployment such as being able to use Capistrano?

Chris.

VM will work fine but you’d be better off using your own server instead if you can.

You’ll need Linux on your client to successfully use Capistrano.

Your not the only one Chris, many have complained about this and it's driving me NUTS! No matter what I do I cannot seem to post a new topic! I am only able to reply to others so I'm ranting here.

I know many of us are having the same problem, what percentage who knows. Are people open to moving this list off of google's eternally beta groups program? Other than attempting to help others this group has become totally useless for me!

There is a pretty good chance that I can get free hosting for us. Is there a good rails based groups/mailing list program... seems to me that's what we should be doing anyway? If not we should make it a community project.

Input please! Tim

Brian, unfortunately having my own server for Linux,Apache,Mongrel is not an option. Your tutorials are a help and I plan to use them to get up and running.
