acts_as_ferret inconsistent results

Hi Guys,

I am using acts as ferret and the latest version of ferret to carry out searches on might sight. These give rather strange and inconsistent results using fuzzy search (through use of find_by_contents and tildes in the query).

I can carry out a search a get one set of results. Then carry out the search again and get a different results. For one certain query acts_as_ferret randomly returns one set of two distinct sets of search results.

What is going on here? Why doesn't it give the same thing everytime?

I am the only one using this server and I'm not adding new data or telling it to reindex or other things like that as I search.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Had problems with ferret too. I tused to be that it was pretty accurate but it crashed randomly. A few weeks back it started to act more randomly although it hasn't crashed on me in a while. In the end I had to switch back to MySQL fulltext searches. Something tells me that the last upgrade messed something up.
