I know the feeling. I do the same thing. I was working on something the other night and was thinking through this convoluted algorithm to perform this task, and then I stopped and thought, "Surely there is an easy, Ruby way to do this". And there was. A one-liner. When I got it working, I even let out an "That's cool!"
