Tom Copeland (RubyForge maintainer) posted to ruby-talk that rubyforge.org is down and he is working with the colocation facility to determine the problem.

Wow, that sucks. My company's site is on a colo, and if there was a problem with them it would be disastrous. As is this - I can't get gems. =( Good luck to Tom.
