This is a full time, on-site, salaried position located in New York City. Locals only please. US Citizens, Green Card holders or EAD only please.
REQUIRED:
. 4+ years of server side web development experience . Degree is CS/EE or related field . Knowledge of Java and Ruby on Rails Open to working across technologies . Excellent problem solving desig, and communication skills
PLUSES:
. Experience with clustering and scalable web environments . Experience with cloud computing . Knowledge of e-commerce systems and payments gateways . Experience building and calling web services (REST & SOAP) JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, HTML proficiency . Rudimentary digital signal processing . Knowledge of Linux servers
RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but will not be limited to):
. Server side web development Participate in all phases of the SDLC . Participate in media technology discussions and rapidly prototype new concepts . Communicate with m3rd party providers and media services concerning developing new technologies . Extend and manage a highly dynamic distributed computing environment used to power direct-to-consumer applications as well as internally focused tools
ENVIRONMENT:
Developers are free to choose OS and tool sets. Core e-commerce system is Java and Ruby on Rails. Consumer facing rails applications utilize JRuby and are backed by a customer Java layer. Systems are deployed within a Java application server running in a cloud-computing environment.
