How to do a performance test

hey guys,

I've been working on performance testing. Find some nice tools to help on performance test, like newrelic and rail_reviewer.

With thess fancy results, i don't have much idea about what to do next.

So is there any books or blogs can show me step by step, how to do a performance test on rails.

I'm really eagerly to learn on this. Please give me some clue.

I get to know how to use benchmark and profile, but i don't know the process to do a performance test.
