Email marketing services

Hi, I am looking for an API to send various kind of emails from my app (email verification, alerts, ...). Do you have any services to recommand?

Campaign Monitor is very popular (and rightfully so imo): http://www.campaignmonitor.com/

Best regards

Then what do you mean by "Email marketing"

AJ

Anything that is mass mailing can be done with campaign monitor or mailchimp, you were asking for e-mail marketing services and neither of those two are limited to newsletters. They basically provide services where you want to send out lots of mails and have a way of tracking them and getting stats.

If you just want to send out confirmation mails, what’s wrong with using the local mailserver?

I might be wrong but if we send too many emails from our server aren't we getting black listed by gmail, hotmail, yahoo and so on?

You are indeed wrong.

Then I am really happy to be wrong  Thank you

I'd qualify this. I have a number of clients who send out a modest number of confirmation emails and yet have managed to get blacklisted by various ISPs over the years.

It is factually correct that sending too many emails is not the issue. it's more to do with the content of the email, the sending patterns, the number of similar emails sent in a given time period to different users, how many users mark the messages as spam (even if they aren't). That said, I have found that there are definite deliverability issues with sending out even things like order confirmation emails and I love to offload the deliverability issues on business that specialize in deliverability.

Exactly.

That may be desirable.
