variable f rather than frame f in debugger

Newb here.

I have a parameter (i.e. do |f|) f in new.html.erb

I am inside the debugger and I issue an
  f
and the debugger comes back with
  Missing a frame number argument.

How do I get access to the variable f instead of issuing a "frame"
command?

Use the debugger's print or eval commands. Type 'help' in the debugger
for more info.
