Trac _really really slow_ for new tickets

I'm getting new ticket submissions posting for up to 4 minutes without a timeout, only to see the ticket went through 10 or 15 minutes later. I had a 1k file upload take over 5 minutes last night. I'm seeing similar problems tonight.

Anyone know what's up? Is load just really really high? Can something be done?

I believe there are some scheduled jobs running on that system around now. As for what can be done, svn and trac will be moving to a dedicated system some time in the next week or so.

Is/will trac use sqlite still? I've found for high-traffic trac installs, moving over to postgres is a better fix. Willing to assist if necessary.

Best,

James

It was massive crawling through the install by two different IP addresses in China, which happens quite a bit.

Trac is already running under mod_python with a postgresql backend, and sits on a dedicated system that has 14 15K SCSI drives in it.
