klass is the Class of the model from a controller context?

I was trying to figure out what klass is and I think I have it, just need someone to tell me if I have got it right.

klass has no particular meaning. It's commonly used for the name of variables, methods etc... containing a class (since the obvious choice of class is a reserved word).
