Help on install act_as_ferret on windows XP

Hi There!

Im trying to install act_as ferret on win xp, with this environment:

I already follow the topic Installing Ferret + acts_as_ferret on Windows Vista - Ferret - Ruby-Forum, but it is not working, when I try to install act_as_ferret gem, I get this error msg:

$ gem install acts_as_ferret Building native extensions. This could take a while... ERROR: Error installing acts_as_ferret:         ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension.

c:/Ruby187/bin/ruby.exe extconf.rb creating Makefile

Gem files will remain installed in c:/Ruby187/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/jk-ferret-0 .11.8.2 for inspection. Results logged to c:/Ruby187/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/jk-ferret-0.11.8.2/ext/gem_m ake.out

Does anybody has a clue on how to get out this problem?

ruby uses c++ based files and compiles them to work with some apis , i think is the case with ferret , so you you are missing some dependencies and rubygems cant build/compile the c++ base part of the ferret library. Read the documentation on ferret to find out the dependencies your are missing.
